Korean TKO

Just got back from eating Korean BBQ with Louis (Tikko, NOOE) and Luis (Tigran’s old buddy visiting from Mexico). Unfortunately, Tigran couldn’t join us. Louis showed us this little spot in Cerritos where All-You-Can-Eat BBQ is only $9.99. Thats like half of what you would pay at regular Korean buffets… I had to see it to believe it.

I saw it… and believed it.

Louis getting ready to do some work… it was Luis’ first time.

Food and service were both ON POINT. Highly recommended A+++ would eat from again. After dinner, we spent half an hour driving around in circles looking for the 91 fwy. I hate Cerritos… damn your city, Feng!

Ok, back to work.

Oh and before I forget…

Welcome to the Collective, Alex.

Because Eye Care

Took my sister out to lunch today. She currently attends SCCO (Southern California College of Optometry). All she does is study all day/everyday so it was nice to catch her in between classes for a quick bite. Later this month, she will be administering her first eye exam for class and I volunteered (like the good brother I am) to be her first patient/guinea pig. I’m not sure which one of us should be the nervous one. Good luck, Kathy!

Bump, Bump, Bump

I think the biggest news out of all the Apple updates today has to be the iMac. Cheaper 24” model PLUS support up to 8GB of RAM (from 4GB). I don’t think I will ever use 8GB for anything. Man, this looks like a winner.

More: Updated iMac

Other updates: Updated Mac mini, Updated Mac Pro

Also, check out this leaked photo of the new Mac mini box.

Ten Years Ago

Check out what Microsoft thinks the future holds for us in 2019. I wouldn’t be surprised if we see these things coming to fruition earlier. The video below is just a teaser…

Click here to watch the 5 minute video.

Props, Microsoft… props (wow I can’t believe I said that).

Gimme 1080P

Sony’s DSC-HX1 20x superzoomer with 1080p HD video isn’t a rumor anymore. It’s got a 9-megapixel CMOS sensor (like a legit DSLR) and automagically pumps out 224-degree panorama shots with a single sweeping motion.

Even though Sony’s description is smattered marketing BS speak like Exmor sensor, Bionz processor and G Lens—which increase shooting speed to 10 frames per second and reduce noise by 50 percent (whatever metric that’s based on)—it really does sound like a tight competitor to Canon’s similar SX1, especially since Sony’s is $100 cheaper, at only $500.

I don’t know all the details… but what I do know is that 1080P HD video recording is coming to entry level DSLRs! PMA is in full effect and we should see more of these types of cameras unveiled throughout the week. I’m excited!

Nikon has a rumored D5000 and Canon already announced its SX1.

Video Variety

I come across a lot of videos that I forget to share. Here are some random videos (courtesy of Tish) that I thought were… sharable. Fantastic.

WATCH THIS NOW. Be sure to watch Part 2. The More You Know *shooting star*.

Amazing is the next single of his album 808s & Heartbreak but Kanye was forced to release this because he knew of another video using the “video glitch” effect. That was so Kanye of him although I respect his drive to deliver something different.

Chromeo - Bonafide Lovin’. I first heard this song through one of DJ SourMilk’s (Power 106) Some Of My Favorite Things mixes. Definitely a catchy track. I’m a big fan of doot doot doot electronic/80’s music. There’s so much music out there that I’ve yet to discover.

Kid Cudi is one of those artists you can just listen on repeat forever (A Kid Named Cudi mixtape). Awesome video directed by French artist, So Me who is on a blaze right now having done familiar work with Justice, Kanye West just to name a few.

KAWS The Long Way Home show in LA. I still need to go one of these weekends. If you don’t know who KAWS is… check out this special CBS did on him.

And finally… ending on a funny note.

On the topic of talk shows… Jimmy Fallon debuts tonight.

Quest KILT It

America’s Best Dance Crew (Season 3) - MTV Shows

I’m sorry if you’re a Beat Freaks fan or whatever… but QUEST DE-STROYE-D LAST NIGHT’S EPISODE. NO QUESTIONS ASKED!!! You know it. The judges know it. MTV knows it. Beat Freaks fans know it. I know some Quest members personally so you may think I’m biased but honestly… they were ON POINT with every aspect from beginning to end with what could be one of the best performances in ABDC history. They deserve to win it.

CLICK HERE TO VOTE FOR QUEST CREW

P.S. MTV’s website always spotlights Feng with the goofiest facials… LOL!

UPDATE: vid doesn’t seem to be playing (MTV pulled plug on embedding?… dumb). Anyways, you can watch the video on MTV’s site here.

Lesson Learned

You probably noticed a bunch of updates yesterday. Never falling behind on blogging ever again. I got all fancy shmancy with the images (2x2 grid style) to cut back from posting even more pictures… quantity control. In the end it probably saved me a total of 0 hours 0 min 0 secs.

Not sure if I like the way I handled captions for the grids though… maybe for photo intensive posts only.

Lesson learned.

The Cupcake Man

Last night, I had the privilege of attending a lecture given by Johnny Earle aka Johnny Cupcakes at Whittier College. Tish and I thought we were gonna be late and miss the 6pm start time (which quickly brought back horrible HORRIBLE college flashbacks) but as we walked into the student center area there was a massive line of eager fans snaking up a flight of stairs. Whew!

The lecture actually started around 7pm and lasted for two hours. In those two hours Johnny shared his whole JC story and gave insight/tips on how he started his business. It was a real motivating and inspiring lecture full of surprises and funny moments. There was even an “Oprah moment” when he told everyone to look under their chairs for a goodie bag surprise… which went along with his creating memorable moments tip.

  • Goodie bag: Power Ranger/Saved by the Bell cards, JC cards and a mint.
  • Copycats… “those bit*hes!” LOL!
  • Johnny doesn’t understand the appeal of beer pong because the ball gets so dirty.
  • A relation-ship!

I was quite surprised to see how down to earth and personable Johnny was. A lot of brands say they care about their customers but I think Johnny really goes 110% to show it. Buying fans pizza, letting fans chill at his own house, thinking of creative ways to take care of his customers who he considers family. He’s like a friend that you never knew you had. He even agreed to grab dinner with whoever stayed after the lecture. Johnny Cupcakes is for the people!

Good stuff. Thanks, Johnny!
